Independent Study Community Courses Course Descriptions

The International School of the Kootenays offers community courses in two sessions a year, winter and spring, with special offerings in the summer month of July and August. The courses vary form weekend workshops, to once a week, to ten week-long courses.

One of our values is intergenerational learning, and our community courses are generally open to people aged 14 years and older. During the school year some of the high school arts courses will also be open to the community as well.

Community Courses are currently being offered, and/or have been offered in the past year:
- One World Community Choir
- Marimba
- Pottery
- Clay Tile Making
- World Rhythms
- Song Writing
- Spanish
- Exploring Anthroposophy
- Youth Wilderness Skills
- Clay tile before firing
- Felting

We are interested in hearing suggestions for courses from the community.
