Who are ISK students?
Our students come to ISK for a variety of reasons and from a wide range of experiences. They come because they:
- seek a different learning approach that meets their learning styles
- want more independent studies
- seek the flexibility of a distributed learning school
- are in search of guidance to questions that reach far beyond the confines of particular courses
- want to participate in ISK's intensive educational institutes in an atmosphere of dynamic intercultural exchange and cooperation
We have students who have returned after being out in the world working and exploring, and students who have never felt the support they needed to undertake their high school graduation program. Most of our students are benefitting from the chance to blend their learning between different learning institutions - even across the globe.
What do students want?
At ISK it is our experience that students want:
- to be successful
- to feel respected as individuals and as learners
- to respect their teachers
- freedom and responsibility as individuals and as students
By providing the guidance and support of teachers who are flexible, knowledgeable and enthusiastic, we seek to encourage students along their road to learning. We believe students know what interests them, they know what matters and even how they might best engage in studies that have meaning for them.
